Tofino Magic

As the vagabond ocean spray engulfs the jagged shoreline rocks, the salty breeze runs its fingers through my hair. Rugged, wild coastline; life on the edge. Wolves, bears. Cozy beachfront cabins. Sunset. Warming hands around a hot mug.

A landscape that beckons, ‘come out and explore’ as much as it invites, ‘tuck inside.’

This is the recipe that feeds my soul. A hearth space. Tall trees, mountain backdrops, open ocean. A space that inspires heart opening; that nourishes, encourages. Tofino, nestled on the west coast of Vancouver Island, is a quintessential hearth space to share with hearth sisters.

Hearth is about finding comfort. Not in naiveté. Hearth is an intentional moment of pause, time out. Hearth invokes the metaphorical and literal imagery of fire, warmth, gathering. To participate in the Hearth concept is to nurture oneself and others on internal and communal levels.

Hearth is about putting more good in the world, together, than we could alone.

We’re about honouring the value of beautiful, soul nourishing, healing spaces and moments. Hearth is the acknowledgement that life is a journey. We hope Hearth will support you on yours. Hearth itself stems from a patient, ever evolving journey.

Hearth is arriving at the end of the day and not finding, ‘that girl had a beautiful dream, but she was too afraid to chase it.’ Hearth is the bold blend of courageous pursuit and the softness of reflection.

The Hearth idea was born in a space of abundance, love. We weren’t sure what to call it yet, but we imagined opening our hearts to guests in a homespace, gathering around an outdoor fire pit, providing a space to share around a long wooden table. Hearth, in its infancy, was an expression of dreaming without limit. Hearth was created from the heart, for heart to meet heart.

Then there was a season of great loss. Sadness. Hearth flickered.

Hearth reemerged, now with a name, as a place to renew. A new teammate entered the scene, ready to help perpetuate the dream. We initiated our designated Hearth journal as a lined landing pad to keep up with our free flowing inspirations. Hearth would become a place to plant seeds, and tend to those already planted, after a season of storm. Hearth, at its core, is a space of rebirth. A space to claim abundance, and a coming home to the light burning within.

Welcome to our Hearth Space.
